2025: The Year to Rise Up — Poplin-Land Edition

I’m famous for not remembering the big things. I remember the small things—interactions with people, kind gestures, meaningful moments. But I often forget the very big things. Like being quoted multiple times in CNN Underscored, for example. 😉 That sort of thing.

So when it came time to look back at Poplin’s 2025, I was genuinely surprised by just how many important milestones we reached this year. Huge thanks to my camera roll and calendar for jogging my memory.

Whether you’re new to Poplin or have been here for years, I’m curious how much of this will feel familiar to you. (My marketing brain wants it all to feel recognizable. The part of me that wants you to feel joy right now hopes some of it feels fresh and exciting. A mix of the two feels just right.)

Enough talk—let’s take a look at Poplin in 2025.

What Defined Poplin in 2025

Before we dive into the highlights of 2025, I want to name something clearly: Poplin is, first and foremost, a one-to-one client services business.

For more than a decade, the foundation of this work has been deeply personalized, private client relationships—supporting women through real life shifts with clarity, care, and intention. That work continues to be the heart of Poplin, and it’s where the most meaningful transformation happens.

Everything else you’ll see reflected below—memberships, group coaching, workshops, content, community—exists to extend and support that core work. These offerings allow us to stay connected with clients over time, deepen impact, and meet women where they are, while remaining grounded in the same values, framework, and level of discernment that define our 1:1 services.

With that in mind, here’s a look back at what made 2025 such a full, expansive year at Poplin.

1. We expanded the way we connect with the Poplin community.

We launched our first membership in September 2024 with the intention of beta testing the concept for six months. And what a run.

We learned so much—what resonates with members, what they need and want from a private community—and translated those insights into our first ongoing membership, exclusively for Poplin clients and those who complete the group coaching course.

Continuum continues to thrive as a vibrant community offering a lifetime of support for Poplin clients, extending the client experience well beyond an initial package. Group coaching also kicked off this year, opening up even more ways to help women dress with intention, simplify their lives, and look and feel like their authentic selves at every size.

We rounded out this expansion into one-to-many services with a high-impact workshop for female CFOs focused on Style Clarity for Financial Leaders.

2. Our business practices continued to align with our values.

One of the filters of the Poplin System is values. I encourage clients to choose pieces that align with their values whenever possible. Those values don’t need to be mine, and this isn’t about virtue signaling—it’s about feeling good in your own skin and confident in the choices you make every day.

Living with intention is a cornerstone of my life, and watching people give away their power is genuinely heartbreaking to me. Sometimes, though, people just need a reminder of how much power they hold. Case in point: Jimmy Kimmel.

2025 was a very big year for our country—and, consequently, for the world. I’m grateful to look back and feel good about my efforts to live in alignment with my values.

In partnership with Office of Ordinary Architecture, we raised over $20,000 for Planned Parenthood of Eastern Washington and North Idaho. This small but mighty affiliate—located along the Idaho border—provides critical women’s healthcare, from menopause treatments and family planning to cancer screenings and, yes, abortions. They offer lifesaving care to women of all ages, including many traveling from states with restricted access.

I’m incredibly proud that our community stepped up to make a gift that had real, tangible impact.

We also supported other local organizations, including the Cascade Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Washington Women’s Foundation. I strongly encouraged community members to push back against the current administration by protesting—using our email list to remind people of both their rights and their responsibilities to the Constitution.

We continued to refrain from most social media platforms (with the exception of LinkedIn) and discussed that choice openly on a video podcast this year, with the hope of offering a useful template for other individuals and small business owners considering a similar approach.

The work isn’t done. Of course, I could have done more. But looking back, I feel good about what we did together—and I’m energized by the prospect of continued meaningful impact in 2026.

3. We had an incredible year of client photo shoots.

I’m deeply grateful to every client featured on our website and marketing materials. Poplin is truly nothing without our clients, and being able to highlight even a small percentage of them is a gift.

Whether you simply enjoy reading the blog or are considering deepening your relationship with Poplin, there’s no substitute for seeing real client photos and hearing their stories. This year, we featured three very distinct clients, and these shoots just keep getting better.

We expanded each shoot to include six outfits instead of the three that were standard in past years—meaning an even bigger fashion fix when browsing the site.

4. We got some great press.

We’ve been fortunate to be featured in a number of prominent publications over the past decade-plus, and 2025 was no exception.

This year, we were featured in CNN Underscored not once, but twice. We contributed to two separate articles, offering practical guidance to readers looking to solve real-world style challenges. It was fun, impactful, and gave our email list a dreamy boost.

5. We continued to expand our sources of real-world inspiration.

2024 was a huge travel year for me, and 2025 kept that momentum going.

In 2024, I shopped in Paris, Zurich, Montreal, Chicago, and Los Angeles, to name just a few. In 2025, it was Florence, Copenhagen, and London. Every trip brings more ideas, more learning, and more good stuff to share.

I’m also in constant contact with a friend in France who keeps me tuned into French trends, and I’m endlessly grateful for the magic of the internet—retailers large and small, and the musings of friends, clients, and especially the vibrant Continuum community—for introducing me to a steady stream of products and people.

All of those ideas eventually land on wishlists and on the blog.

I told you 2025 was a really big year. The world has been so eventful, it’s been easy to overlook what’s happening in our own lives and businesses. If that resonates with you, I hope you, too, take a moment to look back at what you’ve accomplished—and what you’ve learned about yourself, your style, and your community this year.

Good things are coming. We just need to keep pushing forward. I’m happy you’re here with me so we can do it together. I’ll see you in 2026.
