Paris Finds: Polette Glasses
We recently returned from a trip to Paris and Zurich. As a personal stylist, I was in heaven. Since COVID, brick and mortar shopping has really taken a hit in Seattle, as in so many other cities. Yes, we still have some great boutiques and of course, our hometown heroes, Nordstrom and REI. But, nothing compares to a week wandering the streets of Paris exploring department stores, designer brands, small boutiques and of course, soaking up the energy and inspiration of the people and the culture.
Fun Fact: French retailers have two big sales a year known as “les soldes”. This practice is enforced by the government and helps ensure that brands aren’t always working to undercut each other. The sales last for about four weeks and happen to be taking place now:)
Don’t worry, you don’t need to hop on a plane to shop from these retailers. Say, “hello” to the power of the internet.

Polette: Hip, Unexpected Eyeglass Frames for a Reasonable Price
Visiting this store was one of the real highlights of our trip. Now that I need readers for the screen and well, reading, I’m getting deep into frames. I adore Caddis and have found some real gems on Amazon. But the more outside the box you go for frames, the more expensive they get. Polette has an array of hip frames that range from understated cool to full on wacky. In France, they are less expensive but thanks to the magic of the internet, they are only $35 and up with your prescription.
And if you’re saying to yourself, maybe I’m ready for some adventurous frames, this will help. I’m very enthusiastic about both of these pairs of glasses. The frames are only slightly different but they make me look VERY different. My face looks much longer wearing one than the other.
