Wild and Wonderful: Paris Taught me to Adore Camperlab

As a personal stylist for women based in Seattle, I’ve always had an affinity for Camper. The shoes are comfortable, reasonably priced and have a range of quirky, to referential to avant garde. They are a dream for some clients and not right for others. One of the reasons I love this job so much is the wide variety of personal styles of Poplin clients. Camper is just one of a zillion resources that have been useful over the past dozen plus years.

But Camperlab! THAT is an entirely different animal.

I was familiar with the designer arm of Camper, having seen a few of the offerings at various stores on trips and searching the website. But seeing the Camperlab store in Paris was the catalyst for my current adoration of the brand. It’s weird, to be sure. And, it’s not for everyone. But if you love something unexpected, perhaps it’s edgy, or experimental. Maybe it’s fun or masculine-inspired. Whatever the vibe, you can expect a comfortable offering that is sure to draw a reaction. I walked away with this very cool structured handbag, designed to reflect the store’s interior design. My husband left with an expressive pair of slides, shockingly available in his size. (I’m looking at you 13!).

The French Sales take place twice a year and it looks like Camperlab is extending the sale for purchases on the site. Knowing that the Bellevue Square Camper store is now gone, here’s another incentive to check it out. Whether you buy or not, you’re going to enjoy this gallery.

Say, “hi” to your 90’s alternative self. Or, say it to my 90’s alternative self….

Some version of these loafers are about to be everywhere. Prepare yourself and what could be more delightful for a Pacific Northwest fall than this cozy sweater?

And you thought you were done buying sandals for the season.

For a sense of the overall look.

Yes, it’s wild. And if it’s you- it’s SO you. If not, it’s always fun to look.

The ideal oversized suit if you are channeling your expressive 90’s self. Be thoughtful about proportions.

Two different women, both of them bad asses.

This one takes real commitment. Remember to review your authentic personal style key words to ensure these are just right for you.

My husband got the men’s version of these slides in Paris and I couldn’t be happier. Here’s a great pairing for an effortless approach.

Polished and ever so cool.

All you need are some pleated voluminous pants to seal the deal.

Channeling Prada’s spiked shoes for the win.

Your new everyday favorites.

More 90’s with these show stoppers and I am a superfan of this approach to buttons. It’s got vibes.

More iconic shoes that you’ll keep in your closet forever. The key is to only purchase them if you’ll wear them, too.
