Must Have: The Perfect Product to Look Cool While Staying Warm this Spring
As a personal stylist for women, I hear so many questions about how to dress for the shoulder seasons. As we transition from colder temperatures to sunnier days, there is this instinctive pull to wear more warm weather clothes. Seattle-ites (like me), constantly make jokes about having Seasonal Affective Disorder, affectionately known as SAD. But, the manic wave of enthusiasm we all feel as the sun comes out highlights that there must be some element of truth to it all.
While I technically became a Pacific Northwesterner more than two decades ago, my inner Californian pines for spring dresses and open toed shoes long before our local weather endorses them.
But, that doesn’t stop me from wearing them and it shouldn’t stop you either. After all, you function and fashion do not need to be at odds.
That brings us to my favorite product for transitioning to spring.
Your Spring Must Have: Sheer Fleece Lined Tights
Are you seeing these? They look like sheer nylons but actually, they are fleece lined tights. You can choose the shade that corresponds to your skintone and gives the impression that they are sheer nylons. I was wearing mine in Europe last month while my friend and I spotted a collection of women in their twenties in very short skirts paired with the same tights. My friend, who lives in France, commented that she sees women wearing short skirts everywhere and she wondered how they stayed warm. That’s when I revealed that my “nylons” were actually fleece lined tights. (Although, in my case, I was wearing a midi skirt.)
Fortunately for me, one of the Poplin clients in Continuum, our membership exclusively for clients, loves the look as much as I do. So, she set out to find the ideal pair. After starting with options on Amazon and experimenting with multiple brands, she wholeheartedly endorsed Noosh and I bought four pair. (One is fleece lined and the others are not.)
Full Disclosure: the top shape is not like any tights I’ve tried before. But, I quickly adapted and the quality of all four pairs has been impressive. And, of course, I love the look of the very warm fleece pair.
If you’re ready to shift into warm weather clothes but the temperature is not on board with this decision, try a faux sheer fleece lined pair and see where it takes you. It’s been a major win for us.
