Oh, it's happening! Seattle-ites finally have the opportunity to pull out all the stops. Well, sort of. As a personal stylist in Seattle, I am well aware of the struggle to look fab while not overdressing. I'd argue that being the best dressed person in a room is never a bad thing. Although, it's true. You want to be within the realm of the rest of the group. A formal at a football game is not ideal. 

So, with that, here are some options for holiday dressing that you can wear after the party's over. You, my Dear Reader, are going to kill it!

Own the Room in these Pieces at the Holiday Party and Everyday After

1. Stay warm and stylish by killing the faux fur trend with your cocktail dress now and your jeans afterward. These are SO incredibly soft. Foxglove makes the highest quality pieces. I've been loving mine for over three years. I expect you'll have the same experience.

2. Everyday velvet. It's a thing. It's all about textures this season. Try your velvet coat when you hit the holiday performance of the PNW Ballet and then for Sunday brunch with jeans and ankle boots. 

This show stopper is ideal for the office holiday party. Wear it again in the harsh winter weather with a fitted leather jacket, scarf and over the knee boots. 

Faux fur stoles are all the rage right now. Wear yours with your party dress, then try it over your shoulder with a fitted turtleneck. Belt it at your waist (over the stole) and steal the show everyday.

Sequins aren't just for formal New Year's parties. Why not introduce sequins for the hot tub portion of your New Year's celebration? If you've been looking to try something unexpected and sexier for your quality time with your partner, this could be your answer. 

I tried on these lush velvet pants at Vince in Bellevue. (I heart that team!) Wear then with block heels to the symphony with the family then with sneakers and a cozy sweater and denim jacket to your favorite tree lighting event.

If you haven't started to see the pom pom earring trend, you certainly will. Sure, you could make them yourself after a quick trip to the fabric store. But, if you aren't feeling so motivated, pick up a pair. Transform a simple sheath dress into a festive look then pair them with jeans and a white muscle tee for weekends.
