This month is all about functionality and filling in the gaps, so it may not feel as cohesive as other lists. But, don't worry! I have a vision. Off we go!
First up, boots. You are on the hunt for knee high black boots that aren't too western leaning. I tried. But, here's the thing, I think knee high boots are on a bit of a hiatus for the more fashionable set (that means you!). So, of course, you can still wear them, and most Seattle-ites probably will. But, I was having a hard time finding a pair that I could recommend and still look myself in the mirror.
However, I did find THESE. And, I am obsessed with them. Real Italian leather, super soft, great quality and another option with a higher shaft (mid calf) that also comes in blue. Beautiful. Local brand re-souL just launched their own line. And, both green and blue coordinate very nicely with your wardrobe.
I'm also really liking these for you. As an alternative to the western inspired boot, these are similar to your TOMS but less ubiquitous, which is a plus. Plus, they'd ride the line between casual and dressy depending how you style them.
Okay, now we begin the shirt list:) Everything is intended to help you make your bottoms easier to bring into the rotation. Some are pricier than others. All are here for a reason and they are all under $200. This one is in the colors that work well for you. (Don't let the Lindsey Lohan look-a-like throw you off.)
Let's talk strategy. For your body, we want to create the illusion of curves and have multiple points of interest. One way to do that is to belt your top or have a top that does the work for you by creating a shape. Another option is to rock a shorter top that will show off your waist. Fear not. You can layer a cami underneath. You'll need to with this one because the back opens up. If the cami is longer than the top, it will elongate your torso. You don't need that, but it's just fine if you take that approach. I'm also a fan of this top because it has long sleeves. This means it will look really great with your vest over top. Perhaps your black pants or skirt and the white vest? I say, "yes!" And, if you choose to rock knee high boots, black or brown work well.
The autumn/ winter version of pieces you already have. This tie dye inspired top balances your boho side with your more sophisticated work self. It's great with the black pants or skirt. Feel free to tuck it in to show off your waist. Or, leave it out and add the vest to offer more areas of visual interest. I also love this with salmon, green, pink, red, etc. It's a nice canvass for bold jewelry or cardigans/jackets in other colors.
Those print pants are super awesome and yes, there are lots of ways to wear them. This top is an effortless and sophisticated match. It doesn't feel like you are trying too hard and yet is more complex than simply throwing a basic black or white top into the mix. This can be tucked in or left out, depending how you choose to style your look. Again, this is great with a jacket or vest. Or, add a v neck sweater over the top that will show both v's. Then, add the jacket or vest.
Animal prints are fun and you can totally pull them off. This top is great with your black blazer, add jeans. Or, go for the black skirt with faux leather front. Again, sleeves mean that you don't need a top layer. But, if you'd like, vests, jacket, cardigans and/or scarves are great. This layered look is on trend and draws attention to your waist without being skin tight. I also like this with your black pants with the stripe down the side. Keep things simple with subtle shoes. And, of course, toss some metallic jewelry into the mix.
Love this top. It's another example of the top doing the work for you. Super sophisticated and a great canvas for your jewelry, this one shows off your waist. Rock it with your black pants with the stripe down the side or any other colored pants you have. It's better with trousers, but feel free to try it with skinnies and see how it looks.
Unusual but not busy, this top works well with your print pants. Believe it! The colors are flattering for you and you can wear it loose or tuck it in. I also like it with black or grey skinnies.
And finally, a little more boho enters the picture. This top comes in other colors, as well. You could try it with those pants and a basic cardigan or a denim jacket. Alternatively, tuck it into the short skirt. It shows off your shoulders and gives you a little more variety to work with.
All right, my dear. I did look- and the All Saints dress from your last list is on sale! The jacket, sadly, is not. That's a pretty pricey piece, but it's also unique. So, I'll keep my eyes peeled for something more affordable that does the trick.
