Let's start with your original request- knee high brown boots that can accommodate a wide calf. Inspired by the Miz Mooz pair you tried on at Nordstrom, I love this pair for you. Wear them over jeans or leggings or with your denim shirt dress. Crazy functional, they go with virtually anything. Plus, the neutral color means you can rock any bold colored handbag and/or belt simultaneously.
Alternatively, you could go for a lower heel that can be worn running in the park or over to the grocery store. This pair is available in several shades of brown and can also accommodate a wider calf. Plus, the price is right, leaving more budget for other options. The can be worn with virtually anything, as well. I'd say, "no" to shorts, but otherwise, you are pretty safe.
Let the bold, bright colors shine! Orange is an option, too. Yes! You can wear these with your tank tops and a basic shoe. Then, rock a bold necklace like the green one you just purchased. Alternatively, try your yellow wedge heels, these pants and a plain white v-neck t-shirt and a denim jacket. For styling you want 2-3 pops of color balanced with neutrals. A yellow shirt and a neutral shoe. Or a neutral shirt and a bold handbag. These pants can also show off a fun belt which highlights your waist and is flattering for your figure. These are also available in black and navy as I know you are interested in a dark pair of pants. If you'd like something a little baggier, go with the boyfriend cords.
Highlight your waist, control your curves, go! This dress is so lovely for you because it is a canvas for all your bold accessories without being a neutral. I know it's a print. Don't be afraid. Pair it with orange, yellow, red or green shoes and another colored handbag. Or, wear a neutral shoe with a bright colored belt and/or scarf. In the fall and winter, pair it with your knee high brown boots and add a sweater over top. A cardigan, crew neck or V-neck work. Alternatively, you can wear your grey ankle boots and add a colorful cardigan or belt. Dress it up or down depending on your activity.
FYI- These also come in yellow:) We discussed wedges quite a bit and I think we both had open toed wedges in mind. However, once I started to ruminate on this one, I decided that a closed toe wedge would be easier for you to style all year long. You'll certainly see more open toed wedges as the sun comes out. This blue/purple is one of your power colors and can easily be paired with all the other colors we've been selecting for you. Try it with your new jeans and a bold handbag. Green is great! These would also be stunning with your new black vegan leather pants and a basic tee. Take if from Obama channeling Cesar Chavez- Yes you can!
And here they are, your summer peep toe wedges. This denim stripe is the supreme neutral shoe. Pair it with bright dresses, goes with any bold handbag. Easy. How about the red pants and a blue or yellow shirt? Yup. These are your solution. When you have multiple colors in your ensemble, these are a nice way to calm things down without being boring and predictable. After all, the flag can't be wrong. Red, white and blue. Indeed.
Belts! Belts! And more belts! The key to maximizing your hourglass figure is to highlight your waist. Colored belts are a great way to do this. They are also a nice way to bring another color to your outfit and a level of tailored sophistication to your look. Shop the fast fashion stores to maximize your dollar. H&M, Forever 21, Target will all give you lots of exciting belt options. This color is flattering for you and this width will easily fit through belt loops on pants, belts and jackets.
Say, "hello" to your basic denim skirt. As things warm up, I can see you getting quite a bit of use out of this one. Easy, relaxed, fun and especially easy to style, it goes with everything. In colder weather, wear opaque tights and your new knee high boots along with a basic tee, crew neck or v-neck sweater and an accessory. (Go for a scarf, pair of earrings or necklace, if you'd like to kick things up a notch.)
Easy to pair and easy to wear. This basic draped top has a v-neck that is especially flattering on your hourglass figure, plus it gathers at the waist, but you shouldn't struggle with whether to leave it untucked or tuck it in. It should just fall nicely below your waistline. I'm opting for black because I think it would be a showstopper with your new vegan leather pants. Add your denim jacket and a colorful pair of shoes and a metallic necklace or earrings. Finish off with a metallic handbag. Alternatively, go for a colored necklace and clutch and add metallic heels. Super sexy and still comfortable enough for adventures.
Yes! This is the same tank you tried on but the size/ color combination wasn't available. If the top above feels too low, add this tank underneath in green, pair with jeans or the denim skirt and a colorful wedge in summer or a dark boot in winter. Try these with your maxi skirts and a fun necklace or scarf.
It's jersey. And, it comes in a raspberry color that is also spectacular on you. The waist is defined by the elastic, so you can easily rock it without a belt or if you are feeling especially motivated, add one on. An animal print would be fun or use one of your bold colored belts. Add a pair of knee high boots in the winter and a cozy sweater over top. Transition to spring with colored wedge heels or your grey ankle boots. Because you run warm, I think you'll get a great deal of use out of the sleeveless dresses and this one is long enough for you to sit on the floor with the kids. The fabric ensures you'll feel like you are in your pajamas, but look like you are stepping out on the town.
The perfect tee for you! This color is glorious and there are lots more to choose from. The neckline is flattering with your shape and the top is functional for your lifestyle. Plus, the style skims your figure and shows off your silhouette, which is a good thing, for sure. Wear this with one of your new maxi skirts if it is too cold for a tank. Or, pair with colored pants and the neutral shoes above. Alternatively, wear with jeans, a bright scarf and bold shoes.
With all this talk about scarves, I'd better show you one. This ombre scarf has an uber practical blue/green combo that will complement an array of outfits. Dress up your jeans, bring some life to a dark skirt or balance your bold shoes. Love!
Green goes with everything! This is a highly functional bag for you as it is small enough to throw into a diaper bag or you can use the cross body strap to carry it hands-free. Because we weren't able to get to Forever 21 together, I wanted to make sure you knew which bag I spotted for you there. Coordinates beautifully with your other items.
Supplemental Suggestions for you!

If you decide to purchase any of the items listed above, please start with the link on this page as Poplin may receive affiliate income for your purchases. My goal is that your personal style plan is a helpful reference as you build a wardrobe that is reflective of your style: happy, confident, bold and effortless.
Next step, your outfits!
Either of these styles will work for you and can sometimes be found at the Rack. So, check that out, too. The SPANX option is better if you'd like to rock your own bra, it's a more flattering fit, but a little less comfortable.
For high quality leggings, go with American Apparel or SPANX. SPANX will act as shape wear. American Apparel are high quality, won't stretch out and have endless color options to make things exciting. Also, you can purchase the winter weight for something super warm in the cold months.
I love H&M tights. They are great quality, comfortable, affordable and come in a variety of colors. Target has awesome tights, too. You'd get lots of use out of a black pair and a navy blue pair. Spring will be here any minute!
A little more rock and roll, these motorcycle inspired boots are the perfect clunky partner to your maxi skirts in the cold and wet weather. Once the sun comes out, open toed shoes are ideal. But, for now, these are perfect and affordable:)
These are a great example of jeggings. You are looking for pants that resemble leggings but have pockets on the back to show they can be worn as pants. I like the idea of the polka dots on you, so here they are! And, very current. Enjoy!
